Life Reflections Born July 5, 1949, the late but great Tracy Oliver, Jr., was welcomed by his loving parents, the late Idella Green (Tommie) Byrd and Ronnie (Susie) Witherspoon to the Live Oak section of Clarendon County in SC. Along with his parents, he was proceeded in death by his siblings: Alma Ruth Robinson, Richard Green, and Lewis James Witherspoon. “Tracy” received his high school education from Manning, SC graduating with the class of 1967. Following his high school education, “Tracy” obtained his CDL licensing to begin his career as a long-distance truck driver and later on worked with a company known as Jim Tree Services. This is how he provided for the family he created as he joined in holy matrimony, Patricia McCray. Within their union, he was blessed with three step-children that he happily raised as his own: Robin Brayboy of Olanta, SC; Rickey Singletary of Kingstree, SC; and Dawn Green of Dentsville, SC. They were blessed enough to also gain 12 grandchildren, as well as 10 great grandchildren who he left behind to carry on his legacy. Affectionately known as “Tracy”, he was known for his sense of humor and being a wild card at any given time. You were sure to have a great time around him, as he would often be found blending in with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews most of the time. He’s left behind some fond memories for his family and friends to reminisce for years to come. On Friday, February 16, 2024, at 5:45 PM, Tracy took his final breath where he was surrounded by love, the presence of God, and loved ones who will continue to miss him dearly. Left behind to keep his memory alive, are his loving sisters: Sandra Singletary and Leila (Tommie) Brogdon of Olanta, SC; Dianne Harvin of Bridgeport, CT; Deborah Jean Hardy and Dianne (Elijah) Burgess of Sumter, SC; and Veronica (Kevin) Mack of Winston-Salem, NC; his brothers: Franklin (Jannie) Green and Michael (Carol) Green of Olanta, SC; Tony (Shelly) Green of Timmonsville, SC; Ronnie (Deborah Ann) Witherspoon, Gerome Witherspoon, Johnny (Nicholette) Witherspoon, and Kenneth (Betty) Witherspoon all of Sumter, SC; his aunts: Martha Nails, Emma Witherspoon, Gladys Witherspoon, and Bernice Witherspoon all of Sumter, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
