Life Reflections

"But they that way upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

ISAIAH 40:31

Ms. Ruby Lee Turner, a daughter of Mrs. Lee Turner, a daughter of Mrs. Queen, Ester Turner and the late Harry Turner, Sr. was born June 18, 1952 in Florence County, South Carolina.

“Lee” as she was often adoringly called by her many family and friends embodied a heart of gold. She was formally educated in the public schools of Florence County School District #3.

Lee was reared in a Christian home and early in life, she professed her faith and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. Lee knew and loved the Lord. She was a loving and caring person who believed in putting God first.

Lee was a lifelong member of New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, where she was an active participant in church life. She served faithfully on the Usher Board and sang on the Young Adult Choir.

Lee believed in the value of hard work and persevered in completing tasks to the best of her ability. Lee had numerous jobs over the years, working at several sewing factories, as well as a box maker for Gold Kist in Sumter, South Carolina. In her final days of work, she was employed by Miss Deborah Lane.

Lee fought a valiant battle with cancer, bravely and faithfully, yet on the morning of December 3, 2023 Lee's unwavering faith, quietly and peacefully ushered her spirit, absent of her body, unto the joyful presence of the Lord.

Lee was proceeded in death by her father, Harry Turner Senior and her brothers, Harry Turner, Junior and Dexter Turner.

To her family, she was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, niece and cousin.

As a friend, her loyalty was unsurpassed. You could not find a better person or a friend. Lee loved each and everyone unconditionally and it showed through the life that she lived.

Those remaining to grow stronger in God's grace are her mother, Queen Ester Alston Turner of the home; sister, Queenie Ruth Turner of the home; brothers: William Randolph (Loretta) Turner of Lake City, SC and Dennis Lee (Teresa) Turner of Florence, SC; two aunts, Sadie Mae Fulmore of Lake City, SC, and Laura Bradley of Homestead, FL; and an uncle, Samuel (Rosanna) Alston of Lake City, SC. She will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
