James McArthur Graham died on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital of Sumter, South Carolina after a brief illness. James was born March 12, 1967, in Williamsburg County to the late Claude and Earnestine (Speights) Graham, the fifth of ten children. James attended Florence County Schools and was a graduate of Hannah Pamplico High School of Pamplico, South Carolina. James worked for several years as a farmer and was also employed with the House of Raeford in Hemingway, SC for 17 years. He was working with Palmetto Paving of Florence, SC before his sudden illness. James accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was a servant for Christ at St. John Baptist Church of Lake City, South Carolina. James was a wonderful singer who ministered the Gospel through song on many occasions. He was greatly esteemed for his powerful vocals and his devotion to God through his singing, all to the glory of God. He was a dedicated member of Good Hope Masonic Lodge #376 of Hemingway, South Carolina. James was also an avid football fan after having played all throughout high school and loved the Dallas Cowboys. James was preceded in death by his father Claude Graham, Jr., sister: Marynell Graham, his brother: John Earl Graham, grandmothers: Mary Graham and Blanche Speights, brother-in-law Lee Edward Verner, and sister-in-law Nicole Graham. James leaves to cherish his memory, his mother: Earnestine Graham of Johnsonville, SC; brothers: Claude (Jannie) Graham of Johnsonville, SC, Joseph Graham of Darlington, SC; sisters: Ronetha Gray of Florence, SC and Diane Verner of Johnsonville, SC, Ruby (Lee) Linen of Hemingway, SC, Geneva Washington of Lake City, SC, and Michelle (Wilson) Lewis of Hemingway, SC; one son: Jevon Hilton of Florence, SC, aunts: Sara Graham of Cades, SC, Barbara (Earl) Taylor of Lake City, SC; one uncle: Laverne (Vivian) Graham; special cousins: Sheila Graham and Teresa (Willis) Floyd both of Lake City, SC and Deborah (LeeLee) Evans of Columbia, SC; a special friend: Michelle Parker, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family. James leaves a legacy of music and love that will forever dwell in the hearts of all those he came into contact with including coworkers, musicians, friends and loved ones.
