Windy Spates

Miss Windy Denise Spates, the daughter of the late Charles Edward Spates Sr., and Harry Lee Spates, was born March 28, 1978, in Florence County.

She received her education in Florence School District Three. She was a member of Lake City High School graduating, “Class of 1997”.

Windy attended New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.

She was employed at McDonalds in Lake City, South Carolina for 18 years, lived in South Carolina for many years. Windy was a very dedicated and committed employee.

Miss Windy Denise Spates, departed her earthly life on the early morning of Sunday, May 11, 2020, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, South Carolina after an illness.

She leaves a host of family members to honor and cherish her memories to include: a devoted and loving mother, Harry Lee Spates of the home; two loving sisters, Cherrie Ann (Dexter) Burgess and Caroll (James) Wilson, both of Lake City, SC; two caring brothers, Charles Edward Spates Jr. (Myeshia Feagins) and Emmanuel Lewis Spates (Talisha Smith), both of Lake City, SC; one special and loving niece, Aaliyah Simone Wilson of Lake City, SC; three special and loving nephews, Dexter Burgess Jr., Jaquan Wilson, and Dequintis Spates, all of Lake City, SC; four thoughtful aunts, Earnestine Graham of Johnsonville, SC; Betty (Willie George) Thomas of Cades; Patty (Gerald) Hall of Florence, SC; three devoted uncles, Sammie Davis (Peggy) Spates of Hollywood, FL; Joseph (Mary) Brayboy of White Oak, SC; Joey (Angela) Brayboy of Lake City, SC; three great aunts; Kiziah Spates, Lula Mae Spates, and Frances Spates of Cades, SC; a host of other relatives, and cherished friends. A special acknowledgment to all her co-workers at McDonalds.
