William L. Cooper

Sunset: July 19, 2022

William Lawrence Cooper a.k.a “Cookie Man”, “Bubba” son of the late Mamie Louise McFadden & Willie G. Cooper. He was born December 15, 1950, in Florence County. William departed this life on July 19, 2022, at his home where he resided after an accident.

William attended the public schools of Florence County. At an early age he started working at the Lance Company for many years as a driver. This is how William got his nickname, “Cookie Man”. Then he later worked for the Tobacco Market traveling from North Carolina to Maryland and Virginia. He also did pipeline work. He worked in Winston Salem, N.C. doing more Tobacco leaf work. Cookie Man loved his “Derp River” family and was always the life of the party. He dressed well and loved his brim hats.

Preceded in death by the late Mother Mamie Louise McFadden, father Willie G. Cooper, sister Renell Coletrain, two brothers Larry Cooper and Gregory Cooper, niece Tammy Williams, step-father: Carl McFadden.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife: Annie Ruth Cooper, son Prince Cooper (both of Washington, DC) Three brothers Tommie McFadden (Rosa Lee), Carl McFadden Jr., Gerald Cooper all of Lake City, SC. Four sisters Jacqueline Cooper, Gloria Tisdale, Albergail McFadden, Mazie McFadden all of Lake City SC; sister-in-law Robin Cooper and step-mother Othena Cooper and a special grandson Spencer Croker and a host of nieces and nephews.
