Thomas Blaine

Sunset: October 16, 2021

Thomas Blaine affectionately known to some as “Chuck” was born in Florence County to Cola and Harry Singletary on April 16, 1933. He departed this early life on October 16, 2021.

At a young age Thomas accepted Christ and became a member of Mt. Clair Baptist Church on Peach Tree
Street.

He was educated in the public schools of Florence. Although Thomas did not complete elementary and
high school, he had a deep passion to complete his education by attending adult education classes at night.

To know Thomas was to love him. He loved children a man of his words, Thomas made sure you knew how
much you meant to him. He could say a thousand of words with a status of a wisecrack. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and son.

Thomas reared eight children; one child from his previous marriage: Debra Blaine of New York; seven
with Ann whom he was married to for forty-one years and reared seven children: William (Carmequa)
Garner of Charleston, SC, Theresa (Leroy) Mack of New York, Kenyatta (Andrea) Garner of New Jersey,
Damian Garner of New York, Thomas Cory Blaine of the home, Aaron (Paula) Blaine of Columbia, SC and
Angel Blaine of Columbia, SC; seven-grandchildren, seven-teen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and
nephew, two special grands: Derek Blaine and Khamari Gadson, and a special mention to Elaine Jones who was his caregiver up until the time of his passing. “Chuck” was a very smooth, lovable and hardworking man who always stayed to himself. The values and morals that “Chuck” taught his children will forever be instilled in them. Thomas always dreamed of building his own home, and so he did in 1996.
