Shaeed Woodard
Sunset: March 7, 2023
I know that your hearts are saddened by my passing, but I want you to find comfort in the thoughts that I am now in the arms of my loving mother and even more, My Creator.
I was born Shaeed Hakim Woodard on 3/9/1989. I departed my journey on Friday, March 3, 2023 without having the chance to say Goodbye. There’s so much I would have liked to say to you all but the Master called, and I answered. I know that many of you have noted that I departed 6 days shy of my birthday. If you know me then you know that the 33 years that I spent on this earth were indeed a party. I displayed it every time we met through my lively smile and gentle nature. I received my formal education in the Williamsburg and Florence County School Districts.
I was preceded in death by my loving Mother, Sharon Kay Burgess Woodard. If you will, try to imagine our reunification.
I was also preceded by my maternal grandparents: Joshua and Daisy (Dorothy) Burgess, Lake City, SC and my paternal Grandparents Grover and Louise Woodard, NC.
To my father James (Shirley) Woodard of Florence SC, thanks for your gentle guidance throughout the years and encouraging me to always follow God. To my big brothers Shelton M. Burgess and Terrance N. Burgess (Lake City SC) I enjoyed having you guys to call on and yes, I will kiss Mom for you.
I will forever miss my sisters Kashonda S. Bynum, Raleigh NC, and Laquanda Boston, Florence SC.as well as my brother Eric W. Phifer, Winston Salem NC.
To my Aunt Retha Darby, the matriarch of my maternal family, thanks for always being an ever-present support in my life. There are too many aunts and uncles to list but know that I loved you all. A special thanks to all of my mother’s siblings, especially her sisters; for the hand that you played in assisting with raising me.
To my Fiancée, Latonya Williams, I love you beyond words. To my cousin Latavia McGee, if anyone really knows “us” then our relationship does not have to be explained. To my God Daughter La’Tavionnia McCleod, you will always be my “Tiny Bug”.
To the numerous cousins and friends that I grew up with, thanks for helping me enjoy the life that I have lived.
