Ruby Ellen Wright-Green was born on March 16, 1946, to the Late Sarah Jane Brown and Marcus Mack Wright. She was the fourth of seven children. She was preceded in death by her brother Michael Wright and sister Elnetia Wright-Dogan.
At an early age Ruby accepted Christ and began working for the Lord at Mt. Clair Baptist Church of Lake City, SC.
Ruby graduated from Carver High School in 1963. A few years later she left on a journey that would take her to Newark, New Jersey were she began to work for Blue Cross Blue Shield. She later met and married Roosevelt Green who preceded her in death.
Ruby was a very energetic person who believed in living life to the fullest.
After retiring from Blue Cross Blue Shield, she decided to return back home in South Carolina where she began working and taking care of her mother until she died. She then decided to leave South Carolina and found herself in Bronx, NY where she became a self-employed Tax prepare until her health began to fail.
Ruby joined Saints of Jesus Christ Church where she diligently served on many boards. Sunday after Sunday she would attend church until her health began to fail, even then she still was concerned about her church.
Ruby was a very loving, caring, and passionate person who believed in giving. She was known to everyone as “the tax lady”, but to her daughter she was “mother dear”, to her grandkids she was “granny”. Her favorite pass times was cooking, watching The Young and The Restless, having a super bowl party for her and her grandboys only and of courses smoking Winston Lights 100’s. We know she fought a good fight, we know she finish the race and we truly believe she is resting now.
