Ms. Lutherine Watson

Sunset: December 24, 2020

Lutherine Watson was born December 9, 1944, in Lake City, South Carolina of Florence County and departed this earthly journey on December 24, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Munn Watson, Sr., and the late Maggie Watson. Lutherine was committed to her family and her Deep River community. Her presence was always warm and kind, which made it easy for her to be loved by everyone that encountered her presence.

Along with her commitment to family and community, she dedicated herself to her job and co-workers. Lutherine faithfully worked for Florence County School District 3 where she retired several years ago. Also, Lutherine was a faithful woman of God and grew up in a family home that made church attendance a high priority. This consistency encouraged her to accept Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior where she dedicated her life to God’s service over the last 30 years ago. In addition to Lutherine’s faithfulness, she loved to design various items such as flower arrangements for her kitchen table. She loved cooking especially large Sunday dinners. She loved shopping and tackling difficult crossword puzzles.

Lutherine Watson was proceeded in death by her mother, Missionary Maggie Watson, her father, Deacon Munn Watson, Sr., and her sister, Elizabeth “Honey” Lewis. Those left to cherish her loving memories are her children, Zina Speights of Lake City, SC, Julius Anthony Watson (Chasity) of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Tasha Watson of Lake City, SC; three siblings, Betty Ann Keepler of Winter Haven, FL, Deloris Cattenhead of Lake City, SC, and Munn Leroy Watson, Jr. of Florence, SC; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
