Ms. Willie Ruth Washington, the daughter of the Late Annie Sue Graham was born August 29, 1927 in Lake City, South Carolina.
Wille Ruth was joined in marriage to the late Charlie Washington. They were married for many years before Charlie preceded her in death in 1986. She later got engaged to Roland Lee who preceded her in death as well. Willie Ruth was the proud parent of 4 children, Charlease Williams of Lake City, SC and Gerald Washington (Diane) of Lake City, SC. She had 2 children who preceded her in death, Joyce Washington and Ralph Washington (Azalee). Willie Ruth had one brother, Alonza Smith (Smitty) and her sisters at heart Gineva Dimery (Monkey) Johnnie Bell, whom all preceded her in death. She leaves her 12 grandchildren, Dwayne Brown, Shawn Brown, Shermaine McCutheon, Aisha Washington, Sharla McClam, Winston McClam, Ryan McClam, Justin Williams, Rapheal Washington, Kenny Williams, Bennie Williams and Tyquavious Washington. She also leaves 8 great-grandchildren Madison Haughton, Ta’Mirya Green, Kayla Green, Mckinley McClam, Justice Williams, Kaycee Williams, Kaylee Williams and Xy’riah McClam. Also nephews Alonza Smith (Jocelyn), Julian Crawford (Chuckie), Norman Dawkins and niece Queen Washington (Cammie).
Her mother,the late Annie Sue Graham preceded her in death when Willie was only 9 months old. She was raised by her maternal side the Fulmore/Mouzone family. She started out her adult life working at Piggly Wiggly in the Bakery/ Deli. She then later became a realtor and a part of one of the first blacked owned real estate companies in Lake City, SC. She was a part of multiple family owned businesses such as Mouzone Motel/Club, West Graham Road Rentals and the first taxi line and the original owners of the Pink House (Adam Gardner – Pa Pa). To know Willie was to love Willie. She was one of the most hardworking, loving, giving persons you could ever have met. She made sure to let anyone she came in contact with know that she loved them. She is known for being the neighborhood grandma. Church Willie Ruth was a member of Wesley United Methodist church. She joined Wesley at an early age. Wesley UMC has always been a part of her life though due to her illness she wasn’t able to attend over the last few years, but she was always there in spirit.
Wille Ruth Washington departed this life on Sunday, January 24 at 11:00 am. She was just so full of life and loved everybody. God called her home earlier than he hoped, leaving behind her family and friends to tell her story. She leaves treasured memories behind and the family will miss her dearly. We will miss her laughter, wisdom, kindness, and generosity. God knew it was time to bring her joy to heaven to take away the pain. So long Mama, grandma, auntie, cousin and friend.

The Washington Family, Davis Family, and so many more family and friends that we can’t name because it’s so many. Thank you to everybody for being there for Willie Ruth when she needed you the most. Your love, and generosity of your time over all these years helped her live her best life. She was also grateful that she could count on you all and her children/grandchildren during his illness.
