Mrs. Leather Mae Gamble

On Saturday, November 14, 2020, Leather Mae Brown Gamble departed this life peacefully at MUSC Health of Florence, SC. Leather Mae Gamble was born on May 27, 1959, to the late Morris Burgess Jr. and Geneva Burgess in Williamsburg County. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Marvin Gamble Jr. on April 30, 1998.

​She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Gamble Jr. and four brothers: Jerry Burgess, Willie Burgess, Dennis Burgess, Ray Charles Burgess.

She received her education in the public schools of Florence County. She enjoyed spending most of her time decorating and redecorating her house.

She leaves to cherish her memories a loving mother: Geneva Burgess of the home; two sons: Lavern (Michelle) Burgess of Lake City, SC, Kevin Burgess of Paterson, NJ, three loving daughters: Anntreka Burgess of the home, Ericka Brown of Florence, SC, Tomechie Brown of Columbia, SC; one brother: Ernest (Nobella) Burgess of Lake City, SC; two sisters: Bernice Burgess and Robin White of Lake City, SC; five uncle: Wearly (Pearlie Mae) Burgess of Lake City, SC, Donnie (Anna Jane) Burgess of Cades, SC, Roy Burgess of Bronx, NY, Paul Burgess of Philadelphia, PA, Benjamin (Margaret) Burgess of Virginia; three aunts: Diane Burgess and Mary Ann Burgess both of Lake City, SC, Willa Troutman of Lakeland, FL; six loving grandchildren: Briazia Lee, Niyah Burgess, Ellexis Lee, Kaeden Lee, Dale Jones Jr., Eriana Lee, and host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
