On Sunday, August 29th, 202, Mrs. Christine Walker Allen peacefully went home to the Lord after being blessed with eighty-two years of life. She was born to the late Odis and Estell Fulmore in Ridge Township, South Carolina, which is now considered Cades.

Christine, the firstborn child of sharecroppers said that her earliest memory was of her tending the crops. She later found great peace in gardening flowers, and vegetables. Always wanting to do what’s best for others, her childhood dream was to become a nurse. She attended nearby public schools before relocating to Newark, New Jersey. Christine got a job at ADT and worked there forever 30 years.

While residing in Newark she got married to the late Ellis Walker in 1960. The two of them soon moved to Jackson, NJ with their children and the two lived there until Ellis had passed away of cancer in 1990. After remarrying Deacon Raymond Allen in the late 1990s, she settled in Lakewood, NJ.

In Lakewood, NJ, a devout Christian, Christine was a member of Sixth Street Baptist Church for over 40 years and was considered a church mother to much of the congregation. During her time at Sixth Street, she was a deaconess and missionary in addition to being a member of the choir.

In 2015, about two years after the passing of her second husband, Mrs. Walker Allen decided to more back home to Lake City, SC, to be closer to her sister. While here in Lake City, she attended Mt. Clair Missionary Baptist Church.

Christine leaves to cherish her memory, a large legacy that includes children Diane (Perry) Brown of Thomson, GA, and Ellis Junior Carter of Augusta, GA – including those she loved like her own – Min.
