Willie James Fulmore affectionally known as Brew a native of Williamsburg County born the second child to the late Mr. Rollie Fulmore and Sallie Myers Fulmore on August 3, 1948, in Lake City, SC. He was reared in Lake City spent his childhood there graduating from a Cades High School, Cades, SC in 1966. At a young age Brew was driven, motivated, and determined to excel at everything he put his mind to do. After graduating from high school, he took control of his destiny by making the best decision enlisting into the United States Army during the Vietnam War achieving many medals namely, Combat Infantryman Badge, Two Bronze Star Medals, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Campaign Badge, and served with the 4th Infantry Division.
Since childhood, Brew has been a pioneer and role model for his family. After serving his country as a Vietnam Veteran Brew relocated to Winston Salem, NC to begin his civilian career. To know Brew is to love him he was avid jokester, not a day went by you didn’t see him laughing cheerful, and being witty with family and friends.
Brew was a true definition of a hard worker as he remained employed throughout most of his life retiring from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in Winston Salem, NC until his death declined. Brew accepted Christ as his personal savior and was a lifelong member of Mt. Beulah United Methodist Church.
On Thursday, October 27, 2022 Brew was called by God to rest from his labors. He was preceded in death by his mother: Sallie Fulmore and his father: Rollie Fulmore.
Brew leaves to cherish his loving memories: a loving and caring companion: Annie Stephens and their devoted daughter: LaKisha Stephens both Winston Salem, NC; one loving grandson: Warren Alvin Keith of Winston Salem, NC; two faithful brothers: Walter (Dorothy) Fulmore and Johnny (Laura) Fulmore both of Lake City, SC; two devoted sisters Lucine (Jerome) Simmons and Lenora Caldwell both of Lake City, SC; seven admiring nephews: Damon (Shamira) Alford of Lithonia, GA, Darian Simmons of Greenville, SC, Michael Simmons, Jasper (Pamela) Alford, Jonathan Alford, Rashawn Fulmore all of Lake City, SC, and Rev. Anthony Caldwell of Hartsville, SC; five beautiful nieces: Katherine Green of Lake City, SC, Kaisha (Dexter) McCrea of Midlothian, VA, Tamika Caldwell of Charleston, SC, Ashley Turner and Zaire Turner of Hartsville, SC; a bonus brother: Malachi (Faye) Graham of Lake City, SC; special friends: Joe Lewis Salters of Boston, MA, William (Loretta) Turner of Lake City, SC; a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
