Mr. Samuel Molester McKenzie , a son of the late Joe McKenzie and Emma Wilson McKenzie, was born on February 18, 1948 in Williamsburg County SC. He entered into eternal rest on March 18, 2023 at Mcleod Hospice. Sam received his formal education from Lake City public school system and graduated from Carver High School in 1966. He then attended Denmark Technical College and joined the military shortly after.
At an early age Sam joined St. John United Methodist Church. In his earlier years Sam worked at A.B. Dicks INC. and Walmart until his health declined.In 1998 Sam rededicated his life to God and lived in the way that God desired for him.
In addition to his parents Sam was preceeded in death by 4 sisters, Ophelia Rose, Emma McKenzie, Eloise Baker and Francenia Corbett.
Sam will continue to live in the hearts of those left to cherish his memories. They are: his devoted wife, Barbara Gamble McKenzie; his beloved daughters, Nedra McKenzie, Dedra McKenzie , Sonya (Bobby) Hudson, Shondra (Matthew) Milligan, and a beloved son Jamie (Sandra) Brayboy. Sam has 16 grand children, 11 boys and 5 girls and 10 great grand children; He has 2 sisters Gussie Valera Dubose of New York and Jannie Mae Dodd (Ben) of Spartanburg SC; 3 brothers Leo McKenzie of Lake City SC, Willie Joe McKenzie of Florence SC and William (Rosezetta) McKenzie of Lake City and special nephew, Tommy Lee McCutheon of Lake City SC. 3 brother-in-laws, Nathan Gamble Jr. of Lake City, Sammie Graham of Lake City SC and Alphonza Gamble of Lake City SC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
