Mr. Mitchell Alford Jr.

Mitchell Alford Jr., the son of the late Mitchell Sr. and Wilhelmina McClam Alford was born on February 5, 1949, in Florence, South Carolina. Junior as he is better known attended Greater St. James AME Church at an early age.

Junior attended Carver High School. After high school, Junior worked for AB Dicks and Company until closing. Then Junior decided to work in construction until retiring.

Junior met and married his sweetheart Mrs. Joannne Flemming Alford in 1980, and to this union three children were born though he was a man of very few words but had a heart of gold.
Mitchell departed this earthly life on Sunday, November 27, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Mitchell and Wilhelmina Alford, two brothers: Franklin Alford, Donald Alford; one stepdaughter: Antoinette Flemming Auston; one niece: Camesia McClary Simmons. He leaves to celebrate his memories, his wife: Mrs. Joanne Alford of Lake City, SC; one daughter: Ebone Alford; two sons: Daryl Alford, Zackery Alford all of Lake City, SC; two sisters Murdese (James) McClary of Lake City, SC, Kasunder Alford of Brooklyn, NY; four brothers: Ronald Alford and Linwood Alford of Lake City, SC, James Alford Raleigh, NC and Jerry (Dedsia) Alford of Atlanta, GA; two grandsons and five great-grandchildren; one additional sister-in-law Patricia `Alford.

Maternal Aunts: Lily (Richard) Bird, Geraldine (Andrew) Jackson, and Dorothy Wilson all of Winston Salem, NC.

Maternal Uncles: Mr. Louis (Barbara) McClam, and Mr. Willie McClam all of Winston Salem, NC; Mr. James McClam of Augusta, GA; Paternal Aunts: Mrs. Jenette Gordon, Mrs. Christine Alford of Lake City, SC, Mrs. Alice (Solomon) Tisdale of Philadelphia, PA. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
