Mr. Leroy Powell

Mr. Leroy Powell is the son of the late Willie James Powell and Lillie Mae Brown Powell was born on March 13, 1951, in Williamsburg County. He departed his life on Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Carolina's Hospital of Florence S.C. after a long illness.

Leroy attended school in Williamsburg County. Leroy joined the New Life SDA Church on Moore St. Lake City, SC, and was a Baptist. Leroy was employed at Wellman Industries of Johnsonville, SC for many years and later began farm work until his health declined. Leroy was joined in holy matrimony to Linda Lorraine Self on April 17, 1973, to this union, nine children were born.

Leroy leaves to cherish his memories to his late wife Linda Lorraine Self Powell; five loving sons: Bryon Maurice Self of Myrtle Beach, SC, Leroy Powell J.R. of Hemingway, SC, Michael Lamont Powell of Conway, SC, Anthony Levern (Dana) Powell of Lake City, SC, Christopher Powell of Kingstree, SC; five loving daughters: Teretha (Fredrick) Harris of Stone Mountain, GA, Angela Powell of Conway, SC, Sandra Denise Powell of the Home, April Gail (Demetric) McDowell of Lake City, SC, Shirldrina Nelson of Hemingway, SC; three brothers: Willie J and Randolph Powell of Johnsonville, SC, Johnny J Brown of Lake City, SC; a deceased brother: Trillis Powell of Hemingway, SC; four loving sisters: Rosa D (Daniel) Barr of Winston Salem of NC, Maxine Brown of Hemingway, SC, Silvia (Curtis) Thorne of Radcliff, KY, and Patricia Powell of Seguin, TX. Leroy also leaves behind ten grandchildren: Olivia Powell, Shanetra Harris, Shamekia Harris of Stone Mountain, GA, Juquavious, Ashanti Davis of Lake City, SC, Shatavia, Mikayle Powell of Lake City SC, Norvin Dixon of Norcross, GA, Devin Burgess of Lake City, SC, Naveah Thelma McDowell of lake City, SC; two brothers-in-law, two uncles, two aunts, host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Leroy also leaves behind a very Special Friend Mary Burgess and a close friend of the family Elinita Singletary.
