Mr. Arnold "OC" Hayes

Arnold Reginald Hayes, affectionately known as "OC", was born September 26, 1953 in Florence County to the late Mr. William J. Hayes and the late Mrs. Lillie B. Hayes. He attended the public schools of Florence County and furthered his education at Voorhees College where he earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in History. He was a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Reggie joined the Historical Greater St. James AME Church at a young age, where he became a devout member and worked diligently on the Trustee and Usher Boards. He worked numerous years for the state of South Carolina with the SC Department of Corrections and SC Disability and Special Needs. Reggie leaves to cherish loving memories to his children: Charlotte (Jamie) Jones of Lake City, SC, Monique Croker of Florence, SC, Muhammad Hayes of Lake City, SC, ; brothers: William Hayes Jr. of Lake City, SC, Harlan Shuler of Dixon Hill, MD; sister: Beulah Shuler of Hyattsville, MD; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of loving nieces and nephews. He also leaves a special friend Rosella Rose.
