Sunset: November 15, 2022

Millie Ann Epps May, lovingly known as “Mollie,” peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. She was born to Wilbur and Luvenia Fulmore Epps on March 16, 1948 in Lake City, SC. She was educated in Florence County School District and in later years received several professional certifications.

Mollie accepted Christ at an early age in South Carolina and after relocating to New Jersey, was baptized at Raritan Valley Church. After retiring from RCA and Owings Illinois, she had an extensive work history caring for others as a personal health aide.

Mollie had a loving heart and always had an open seat at her table for anyone as she shared her southern cooking. Many good times were shared laughing with her good girl friends Laura, Jeanie and Tina. She was affectionately known as Nana to many children, but her biggest joy came from spending time with her 5 grandchildren.

Mollie leaves to cherish her precious memories her son, Jamie B. Epps of Lake City, SC and her daughter, Towanda L. May-Butts, (Wade) of Somerset, NJ; two sisters, Levenia Epps of Lake City, SC, and Diane Singletary (Fred) of Effingham, SC; brother, Jeffrey (Hazel) Spates; five grandchildren, Gregory Jamar Solomon, Jerrold Javon May, Zania Nacole May, Zaleeah Amanda Butts, and Zariah Robyn Butts. Other family members: Rodolphus May II, Nicole May-Bynes, and Leala May. Her memory will also be cherished by her beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, PFC Jerrold Epps, parents, Wilbur and Luvenia Fulmore Epps, brothers Johnnie Epps and Samuel Wilbur Epps, and sister Rosa Pearl Epps.
