Merwyn Curt Brown

Merwyn Curt Brown was the son of Reverend Matthew C. Brown and the late Mildred S. Brown. He was born on August 9, 1971. Curt attended the public schools of Florence County School District Three. He played on the basketball team and was a trombonist for the Lake City High School Concert Band and Marching Band. He furthered his education and received an Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Ashworth College.

He joined St. John United Methodist Church on the Green Road at an early age.

He was employed by the following: The Waste Water Plant for the City of Lake City, SC, a Police Officer for the City of Lake City, SC, Richland Sheriff Department, an Narcotic Investigator of York, SC, and later returned as a Narcotic Investigator for Lake City, SC Police Department, Palmetto Nissan as a car salesman of Florence, SC and an Internet Salesman Manager at Mike Reichenbach Ford of Florence, SC.

He leaves to cherish his memories his father: Rev. Matthew C. Brown, two sisters: Gayle (Bobby) Williams of Lake City, SC; Geralyn M. Brown (Daniel McCutcheon) of Lumberton, NC; two brothers: Mitchell (Barbara) Burgess of Newark, NJ, Marshall Burgess of Patterson, NJ; his children: Marquis Brown of Columbia, SC, Whitley (Lance) Weatherford of Florence, SC, Diamond McDowell of Columbia, SC; one son who preceded him in death, Quinton Major; two aunts: Dorine H. Brown of Lake City, SC, Mary Brown of Waldorf, Maryland and a host of relatives and friends.
