Sunset: February 18, 2023

Lucine Fulmore Simmons born the oldest child to the late Mr. Rollie Fulmore and Mrs. Sallie Myers Fulmore on June 20, 1947 in Williamsburg County Lake City, SC. She was educated in the public schools of Florence County graduating from Carver High School Lake City, SC in 1967.

After high school, Lucine went on to doing farm work and later housekeeping work, which she really enjoyed. Lucine took on the role of wife, mother, & later grandmother like it was second nature. She loved cooking and had hopes of opening her own restaurant one day. Lucine was such a caring and nurturing woman who made sure everyone was taken care of, if you had a problem, she definitely had a solution.

Lucine was also not afraid to speak her mind & put us in our place. She loved going to the thrift store, doing crossword puzzles, and watching the “stories” and Golden Girls.

Lucine will always be remembered as the backbone of our family. She is survived by her husband, Jerome Simmons of Lake City SC, her three children; Katherine (Jamie) Green, Michael Simmons, Darian Simmons, all of Lake City SC, her five grandchildren; Makyla Mcfadden, Roslyn Fulmore, Arianna Simmons, Louis N Henry, and Kinslee Yates, all of Lake City SC, two great-grand daughters; Malaysia Brayboy and Brooklyn Graham of Lake City SC, two brothers; Johnny (Dorothy) Fulmore and Walter (Laura) Fulmore, both of Lake City SC, bonus sister and brother; Lillie Mae Fulmore and James Fulmore, mother-in-law; Dora Dickson, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
