Loretha Davis

Sunset: September 15, 2022

Loretha became ill many times in life, but God reached down and picked her up on Thursday, September 15, 2022, while in MUSC. God saw that her body was getting tired, she heard a voice that whispered to her, “Come unto Me and I will give you rest”, and God received her into life eternal.

Loretha was born on May 18, 1969, in Florence County, South Carolina, to John Barr and Ruby Robinson and attended the public schools of Florence County School District Three. Then she went to earn her degree at Miller-Motte University in Medical Billing Coding. She served over a decade as a bus driver with Florence School District Three and Migrant Head Start.

At an early age she accepted our Lord as her personal Savior and joined Mt. Clair Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang on the choir.

She leaves to cherish fond memories of a loving family her devoted husband: Broderick A. Davis of the home; father-in-law: David Goodman of Cowards, SC; three sons: Chadwick Barr, Tyrese Davis and Dantae Davis of Lake City, SC; three daughters: Carlinda (Edward) Green of Columbia, SC, MacKenzie Davis and Amber Davis; three sisters: Cheyvonne (Kalolerone) Davis, Mary Barr and Josephine Barr of Lake City, SC; one brother: John (Jacinta) Barr of Conway, SC; seven lovely grandchildren, six brothers-in-law: Timothy (Brenda) Goodman of Society Hill, Michael Goodman of Columbia, Kareem Goodman of Charlotte, NC, Whittaker (Lashia) Goodman of Timmonsville, SC, Vintrez Davis of Florence, SC; one sister-in-law: Kreshella Goodman of Columbia, SC; three special cousins: Carol Moore, Wanda Gunter and Florene Butler of Lake City, SC; three close friends: L'Amanda Waterman, Kim Green and Beverly Brown all of Lake City, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
