On Tuesday, April 11th, 2023, our beloved Lillie Brown was called home by our Lord. Mrs. Lillie, who was quiet, gentle, and sweet, passed away peacefully at her home.
Mrs. Lillie Graham Brown, daughter of the late Drayton Graham and the late Ellen Hickson Graham, was born on November 3rd, 1933 in Florence County. She is preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Lillie received her formal education in Florence County Public School System. At an early age, she confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of St. Mark Holiness Church in Lake City, SC. She was united in holy matrimony to the late James Brown Sr for fifty-one wonderful years. Their union was blessed with ten children. She is preceded in death by three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In her passing, she leaves to mourn and cherish her loving memory, five sons, Apostle Charles Brown, Roy Lee (Mary) Brown, Herman (Loretta) Brown, all of Olanta, SC; James (Wanda) Brown Jr. of Lake City, SC and Kent (Sharlecar) Brown of Columbia, SC. One grandson she reared as her own, Otis (Angela) Burgess of Olanta, SC; five daughters, Rosa Lee Langston of the home, Mary Ann (Moses) Burgess, Hilda Rush, both of Lake City, SC; Christine (Leon) Fullard of Olanta, SC; Pearline (Sammie) Dewitt of Lynchburg, SC; One granddaughter she reared as her own, Kenteria Burgess of New Zion, SC; two sisters, Pearl Washington and Mary Sowers both of Lake City, SC; One sister in-law, Elizabeth Brown of Lake City, SC; two brother in-laws, Eddie (Reatha) Brown, William Brown, both of Lake City, SC; thirty-three grandchildren; sixty-nine great-grandchildren; twenty-two great-great grandchildren; a host of niece, nephews, cousins, and friends.
