Leon E. Simon III

Mr. Leon Early Simon III was born February 2, 1981, in Florence County to Mr. & Mrs. Early and Shirley Simon. He graduated from Lake City High School, Class of 2000. Leon worked for 18 years at Hardees in Lake City, SC. He loved sports, especially wrestling, football and basketball. Leon loved all kinds of music. His favorite was quartet music. He attended church at St. John United Methodist Church and loved interacting with people there.

Leon was a people person with a sweet soul who was gentle in spirit, respectful and humble. His life may have been short, but he served his purpose as God’s servant. Leon loved and cared for his mother and father.

Leon passed away peacefully on January 19, 2022 at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center. Leon was truly and angel on this earth and has now ascended into heaven.

Leon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Early & Eula Simon and Luther & Mary Sowers; Uncle Leroy (Naomi) Simon, aunts Earlene (Otto) Graham and Joyce (Dave) Nowlin.

Leon is survived by his mother and father Mr. Early and Shirley Simon. Eight Aunts: Barbara (Albert) Anderson of Lake City, SC, Margaret McMillian of New York, Kennia Kennedy of Lake City SC, Pearl Washington of Lake City, SC, Lillie Brown of Olanta, SC, Alberta (Ellis) Graham of Olanta, SC, and Hazalene Graham of Olanta SC. Four uncles: Douglas Simon of Florence SC, Levern (Angela) Sowers of Phila, PA, Leon Myers of Lake City, SC, Joe Nesmith of Lake City, SC and leaves a host cousins and extended family and friends whom he loved dearly.
