Katina Hannah

Sunset: April 18, 2023

Ms. Katina Virginia Atlast Hannah, daughter of the late Walter Jones Sr. and Clara Hannah, was born June 21, 1974, in Brooklyn, NY. At an early age Katina accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was a member of Grace Tabernacle Church of God and Christ of Brooklyn, NY. Upon her transition to South Carolina she attended Sandridge Believers Holiness Church of Kingstree, SC.

As she grew older she graces the halls and graduated from Harry Van Arsdale High School, then went on to attend Blake Business School where she pursued Nursing. With a heart fro children she pursued a career in education. She began her tenure as a volunteer at M. Hall Staton then advanced to Teacher Assistant and finally to Teacher.

After a short stent at M. Hall Staton, she relocated to South Carolina to help care for her mother. After a hard fought battle with AML Leukemia, on Tuesday, April 15th, at 2:40 pm, she was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She leaves to cherish her memories forever her children: Jamal J (Olivia) Hannah, Phachara McDowell, Clara Hannah McDowell, Walter McDowell, all of the home and Krisshonda McDowell of Palms Dale, CA; loving niece that reared as her own: Phylicia (Jimmy) Wall) of Salter, SC; grandchildren: Jamal hannah Jr. of the home, JayDen McFowell, Naphtail Bogan of Pals Dale, CA; he siblings: Christopher (Letha) Hannah of Lake City, SC, Jennifer Cooper of Florence, SC, Brenda Cooper fo Salter, SC, Curtis Cochran of Zephyrhill, FL, Uncle Everette (Tracy) Hannah of Coward, SC; beloved cousin: Chandra Hannah of Johnsonville, SC and best friend of 39 years, Rosalind Latchman of Brooklyn, NY and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
