Johnny Brown Jr.

Mr. Johny “Bobby” Brown Jr., son of the late Mr. Johnny Brown Sr. and Ilia Mae Gable Brown was born March 11, 1946 in Williamsburg County.

Johnny was a faithful and dedicated member of St. John United Methodist Church until his illness. He founded the quartet group “The Mighty Wounders” in the early 70s. He also was a member of Lil Ruth and The Stars of Harmony. He loved to sing and write songs.

Johnny was a self-employed farmer for more than forty years.

On Wednesday morning, March 29, 2023, Johnny answered the call from God and went to His Heavenly Home.

In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his daughter Vickie “Kit-Kat” Brown, two brothers: Joseph Brown and Nathan Brown and two sisters: Daisy Brown and Betty J. Brown.

Those left to cherish and honor his memory includes his wife: Della D. Brown of the home; one loving daughter: Amy (Anthony) Whitfield of Hope Mills, NC; two faithful sons: Anthony (Teresa) Brown of Sumter, SC and Kevin (Robyn) Brown of Lake City, SC; one sister: Mary Bell (Jimmy) McFadden of Lake City, SC; two brothers: Leviale (Hestell) Brown of Lake City, SC and Steven Brown of Columbia; five sister-in-laws; Annie Ruth Bragdon of Lake City, SC, Rossie Greene of Pamplico, SC, Rachel Eaddy of Scranton, SC, Lelia Wright of Pamplico, SC, Cynthia Graham of Lake City, SC, Gledean Brown of Scranton, SC; three brother-in-laws: Charles E. Graham of Lake City, SC; twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
