Jimmy Butler
Sunset: July 23, 2022
Mr. Jimmy Butler, affectionally known as “Blo” was born on August 30th, 1953 in Florence County. His parents were the late Elijah and Ellen Butler. On Saturday, July 23, 2022, Jimmy was called into eternal peace at the home.
He attended the Public Schools of Florence County. Jimmy was a quiet gentle soul. He lived with the late Mother Idelia Felder for over 25 years. After her passing, he was placed in the home of Edward and Lottie Bell Frierson. Jimmy was the son they never had and he was a proud big brother to Cindy, Carolina, Ethel, and Terese.
He joined St. Matthews Holiness Church under the leadership of Vice Bishop Vernon Feggans.
Jimmy worked at McCall Farms for over 20 years and after his work career, he began attending Lake City Community Center weekly. Jimmy was a great helper and a kind-hearted person. If you needed anything he was always willing to help. He loved riding his moped, you would see him riding along highway 52 often. He would often walk or ride his moped to the local store in Scranton, SC where he enjoyed getting snacks and talking with friends. He also loved to watch WWE(World Wrestling Entertainment) and wouldn’t miss a week when it came on.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward & Lottie Frierson (caregiver of 20 years).
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, Sandra (Jaward) McClam and Carolina Jackson of Florence, SC, Ethel Robinson of Memphis, TN, and Terese Frierson of Atlanta, GA, who were like his sisters, a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, and community members.
