J.W. (Jay) Wilson, son of the late Alfair Wilson and Naomi Brown Wilson, was born July 12, 1936 in Williamsburg County of South Carolina.
He received his formal education in the public schools of Florence County. He was a farmer and worked at Floyd Motor Company for many years until retirement.
At an early age he accepted Christ as his personal savior. He was a member of Saint John United Methodist Church and sung on the Gospel Choir. His voice was spiritual and anointing you could feel the blessings and anointing. He sung from the heart.
He was joined in holy matrimony to his loving, devoted wife of 61 years, Blanche Wilson. This union was blessed with four children, one daughter: Doris Denise Wilson; his parents: Alfair Wilson and Naomi Brown Wilson; two brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
On Thursday, October 28, 2021, God called J.W. (Jay) Wilson to rest at McLeod Regional Medical Center of Florence, SC after an illness. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving, devoted wife: Blanche Wilson, three devoted children: two daughters: Jacqueline Wilson of Lake City, SC, Priscilla (Nickolas) Lawson of Lake City, SC; one son: Bruce (Teresa) Wilson of Johnsonville, SC, a loving sister only sibling living, Easter Wilson of Lake City, SC, a loving sister-in-law: Christine Graham of Lake City, SC; five grandchildren who he adored and cherished; Shana Wilson, April Wilson, Archiea Wilson of Lake City, Tyrese Lawson, Tyrell Lawson of Lake City, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
