George H. Washington

Sunset: January 20, 2022

George Harris Washington was born December 8, 1955 in Florence, SC. He was the son of the late Charles and Ettalene Washington. He graduated in 1973 from Lake City High School. To know him was to love him.

“Vicky” grey up in the Deep River Community of Lake City. He was employed with Pee Center of Florence, SC for a number of years. He later moved to Brooklyn, New York, living there for 13 years. He made many lifelong friends while living there. He moved back home in 2000 to assist with the caring of his sister. He enjoyed dancing,telling jokes and most of all, cutting hair (Barber of the Ville). Vicky was always the life of the party!!


He was a lifelong member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. He loved his church and worked faithfully on the Kitchen Committee. “Vicky” sung on the Male Chorus and the Voices of Praise and Spirational Choir.

Those left to cherish his long lasting memories are his siblings: Etta (Carl) Williams and Tasha Washington of Lake City, SC, Roderick (Kirsten) Washington of Florence, SC. Aunts: Annie Mae Johnson and Betty Washington of Lake City, SC and uncle: Willie (Perculia) Hurd of Lake City, SC. A nephew that he raised as a son: Rashad (Kandace) Washington of Florence, SC. Nieces and Nephew: Victoria (Shawn) McFadden, Mykul Washington, Kristen Pressley, Demetrius Williams, Tony Dotts, and Quamaine Singletary all of Lake City, SC, Tatjana Washington and Roderick Washington Jr. of Florence, SC; two cousins that raised up with him as a sister and a brother: Adrienne Darby and Norman Johnson of Lake City, SC and a host of other relatives and friends.
