Emma McKenzie

Emma M. McKenzie, the eldest of ten children, born to the late Mr. Joe McKenzie and Emma Wilson McKenzie, peacefully entered eternal rest on January 2, 2022 at Jacobin Medical Center in Bronx, New York.Emma was born on August 4, 1935 in Lake City, SC. Emma joined St. John United Methodist Church at a young age where she accepted Christ as her Savior.

Emma McKenzie was a graduate of Lake City High School, Lake City, SC. After high school graduation, she attended Claflin College. After her tenure at Claflin College, she moved to New York City where she was employed with Hunter College were she was employed for more than twenty-years, and then also worked for Dime Savings Bank of New York until her retirement.

Ms. Emma McKenzie leaves to cherish fond and loving memories: One son, Tommie Lee McCutcheon, and one grandson Terrance McCutcheon; two sisters, Gussie Dubose of Bronx, New York and Jannie Dodd (Ben) of Spartanburg, SC; four brothers, Willie Joe Mckenzie of Florence, SC, Samuel Mckenzie (Barbara Jean), William (Rozetta) Mckenzie and Leo Mckenzie of Lake City; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Ms. Emma McKenzie was preceded in death by three sisters, Ophelia Graham, Florence Corbett and Elouise Baker.
