Christine Gamble

Sister Christine Allen Gamble, sunrise June 1, 1932, and sunset June 30, 2020, at 12:04 P.M. at MUSC Health of Florence, SC. She was the oldest daughter to the late Fred and Flossie Allen out of nine children. She was educated at an early age at a segregated school and later graduated from Lake City in 1971. Our mother taught and showed us how to keep the faith, the meaning of family, and to love our family and friends. At an early age of seven, she was employed by Willie and Mary Lynch. She was also employed by T.S. Ragsdale Company and Lynch Tobacco Company. She remained working as a domestic worker, mother, sister, grandmother, friend to Jimmy (Jackie) Lynch, and Billing (Pickney) Lynch until 2007.

Sister Christine Allen Gamble was a faithful member of Mt. Clair Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board. She also was a member of Prince Hall OBS Willing Workers Chapter #330 until the time of her death.

Sister Christine Allen Gamble was wedded in matrimony to LeRoy Gamble and gave life to three blessed children, Roy “Sambo” James Gamble, who preceded her in death, Delores “Doodle” Gamble of the home, Diana Gamble Singletary of Fort Lauderdale Tamarac, Florida. Memory. Her memory will be cherished by two siblings, Betty Jean Clark of Olanta-Lake City, SC, and Dorothy (Rev. Alphonso) Allen Green of Summerville, SC; two brothers-in-law, Bobby Hall of Coward, SC and Verdell Cooper of Scranton, SC; nine grandchildren, Fredrick Gamble Graham, Ishmal A. Singletary, Roy (Joyce) James Hickson, Latoscha Eddy, Terriel Hanna, Sharon (Raymon) Daniel, Ada Mae McCray, Sammie Graham, and Marlon Graham; thirteen great-grandchildren, Theiron Fredrick Graham, Raelyn Amiyah Graham, Kendra Nicole Garrett, Kareem Jamal Hunter, Carter Abraham Singletary, Brandon Hanna, Nicholas Barr, R’Jaye Hickson, Markasja Graham, Marlon Graham Jr., Nysir Graham, Shakeira McFadden, and Marquis McCray; thirteen great-great-grandchildren, Jordyn Barr, Kacen Richardson, Easton Morris, Ka’mila Briaas, Ariyah Hickson, Amir Hickson, Zyion Hickson, Domanique Graham, Alisha Graham, Jermy Graham, Raymond Jr. Graham, Inikki Hanna, and Shakeria Hanna; a host of special nephews, nieces, family members of the Clark’s, Hall’s, Washington’s, McCown’s, Singletary’s, Gamble’s, Hanna’s, Hickson’s, and Graham’s; special friends of the Fulmore’s, Dick’s, and Lynch’s; special neighbor’s, Daisy Cameron and Marvin Jackson and family.
