Alma Robinson

Sunset: August 30, 2021

The late but great Mrs. Alma Ruth Oliver Robinson, daughter of the late Tommy and Idella Green Harvin Byrd, was welcomed by the Live Oak section of Clarendon County on February 25, 1947. She was preceded in death by three honorary brothers: Lee Ernest Green Jr, Richard Green, and Moses Green.
Those who love and cherish her, affectionately know her as “Ruby”. She received her formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County.

At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Even in the remaining days leading up to her transition, family and friends witnessed “Ruby” calling on Jesus as some of her final words spoken.
“Ruby” will forever be known as the gentle calm to our family’s storms. Her loving, caring nature was both welcoming and refreshing to all who were lucky enough to meet her. While she will be greatly missed, her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of her loved ones.

The former Alma Ruth Oliver was joined in Holy matrimony to the late Charlie Robinson.

On late Sunday evening, August 29, 2021, at her daughter’s residence in Olanta, South Carolina, “Ruby” took her final breath. Knowing that her soul was anchored in the Lord gives her family and friends peace.
She is survived by four daughters: Cathy (Roy) Wilson, Eula Mae Robinson, and Christine Robinson, all of Olanta, SC, and Shana Oliver of Lake City, SC; three sisters: Sandra Singletary and Leila Mae (Tommie) Brogdon, both of Olanta, SC, and Diane Harvin of Bridgeport, CT; one brother: Tracy Oliver of Olanta, SC; two honorary sisters: Nina Brown of Manning, SC and Vernice (William) Gamble of Sumter, SC; three honorary brothers: Franklin (Jannie) Green of Olanta, SC, Anthony (Shirley) Green of Timmonsville, SC, and Michael (Carol) Green of Scranton, SC; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and family friends.
