Abraham Johnson

Abraham “Phillip” Johnson son of the late Joe Johnson and Gertha Cockfield Johnson was born January 27, 1936. He was preceded in death by eight brothers: Joseph Johnson, Henry Johnson, Charlie Johnson, Grady Johnson, Willie Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Harris Johnson and Norell Johnson; four sisters: Rosa Lee Johnson, Juanita Johnson Herring, Nell Johnson, and Susie Mae Johnson Brown; granddaughter: Erica Johnson

He received his formal education in the public schools of Olanta, South Carolina.

He was joined in Holy matrimony to Eloise Johnson of Sumter, SC, and to this union was blessed with two children: Carol Green of Olanta, SC and John Johnson of Washington DC.

He was a people’s person and really loved his family. It is a comfort to us who are left behind knowing that love is never wasted and the sorrows accepted without bitterness helps us to grow in grace.

He accepted the call from God and departed this life for his heavenly home, on Monday, February 27, 2023, in Olanta, South Carolina.

He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter: Carol (Michael) Green of Olanta, SC; son: John (Abraham) Johnson of Olanta, SC; brothers: Phillip (Eloise) Johnson, Van (Patterson) Johnson of New Jersey, special nephew: Earnest Johnson, special grandson: John Dewright and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and other relatives.
